Dear colleague,
Welcome to another issue of our CEI Newsletter. During these uncertain times, I hope you and family are staying safe and healthy.
As COVID-19 and social justice issues continue to make headlines, you may be aware that Ascend has taken a multi-prong approach on racial equity to create a safe environment for discussion of race relations and inequalities that impact us personally and in the workplace. We are taking actions that drive positive results and make a difference. For example, Ascend National’s Feed Your Hospital (FYH) Initiative was a great success. Locally, thanks in part to our CEI/CELP community’s participation, our Ascend GWA Chapter’s FYH Initiative was a great success as well. I encourage everyone to continue to actively support Ascend National and GWA Chapter initiatives.
While we are unable to hold in-person CEI events during this time, the Ascend CEI team is still focused on the professional development and welfare of our community. We’ve already held a few virtual events including “Open Discussion in the Face of Change” and “Ascend CELP Feed Your Hospital Appreciation Happy Hour” event. We continue to plan future events so please let us know if you have any suggestions.
In this newsletter, we want to highlight a few exciting new career changes from GWA CELP Alumni – please see more details in the spotlight below.
Did you also take on a new role? Have any work-from-home tips to share? We would love to know more about each of you as we grow this community, so please send any photos and information to
We welcome your feedback for any virtual CEI activities. Thank you for your continued commitment to the advancement of our Pan-Asian colleagues.
Sincerely,
Winson
