For 7 years, Tieying led the Modeling team to support all structured securitization across Freddie Mac. Tieying redesigned the end-to-end Agency REMIC process and led her team to build the new process from scratch. When she left the team, this new process was the most efficient in the Agency REMIC industry, among dealers, issuers and accounting firms, which took half of the time compared with that of her competitors' and gained valuable competitive advantage for the company. All developments were undertaken by existing staff over 2 years, and saved the company $2-3 millions.
Later, Tieying decided to expand market knowledge and joined the trading desk as the lead structurer to support re-performing loan securitization. Tieying got more exposure to investment banking, investor relationships and bond marketing and was part of the core team to build two new REMIC shelves from scratch and successfully offered the first transactions to the market. Both programs have been very successful and in 2017, our desk raked in $1 billion profits, the highest for any single team in the company.
To get exposure beyond securitization, Tieying joined the Internal Audit team recently and she is working with Multifamily and Finance to mitigate control gaps and enhance the audit process.
